THE SABI COM-B MODEL

SABI COM-B MODEL

COM-B, which stands for Capacity, Opportunity and Motivation, is a process used by SABI to analyse problems and identify what can be done to solve the problem. As a programme, we are fully aware that change does not happen over night, but the COM-B approach has been a workable innovation that enabled us to know – how to identify the right intervention to address the problems, hence triggering behavior change.

THE SABI COM-B MODEL

This flexible tool can be applied to any type of situation / project – it’s a systematic way to conduct problem analysis. MEAL and strategic processes can be designed following the initial COM-B analysis.

To learn about how to map capability, motivation and opportunity within the ‘system of behaviors’ watch this video. The attached video further explains how SABI uses the COM-B model to support the development of Theory of Change (ToC), Implementation Designs and Evaluation Design.
